For our final event of 2015, Stanley Picker Gallery invite visitors (and their pets!) to join professional core cast in the filming of a party held for Genesis, the main character in Oreet Ashery’s Stanley Picker Fellowship film Revisiting Genesis. Filming  will commence in the atmospheric main gallery from 6.30pm and participants are requested to ‘dress casual’.

Accompanying the filming, our Xmas festivities include an Advent window curated by ‘Museum of Christmas’ artist and academic Peter Fillingham to be unveiled at 5.30pm as part of the annual display with local Mill Street residents, and one-night pop-up exhibition at the adjacent former Swan Pub featuring drawing and installation by MA Fine Art students at Kingston University that, informed by Fillingham’s socially engaged practice, will present as a celebration of immediate community – persons, place, and spirit.

We welcome all to join us for the above – and a glass of mulled wine and mince pie or two!

For more information about this collaboration and others please contact Natalie Kay on 020 8417 4074 or email  n.kay@kingston.ac.uk
