Schedule
4-5pm: Tour of 3D Workshops & Fine Art Studios, Kingston University
5-7pm: Presentations, Exhibition Visit & Networking, Stanley Picker Gallery
Stanley Picker Gallery in association with the Office For Fair Access at Kingston University, invite educators of all key stages to join us for a special networking evening on Wednesday 14 October. Attendees will have the chance to find out about Stanley Picker Gallery programme and the University’s Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture, learning how they and their students can get involved, while networking with other educators and art and design professionals in an informal and creative environment.
Excitingly, the event falls shortly after the opening of Dora a new exhibition featuring contemporary women artists Fiona Banner, Cullinan Richards, Hilary Lloyd and Nicole Wermers, who will each select objects from collections at Kingston University’s other creative site, Dorich House Museum, to be shown alongside work of their own; reflecting upon the artistic legacy of the house’s former inhabitants and sculptor, Dora Gordine (1895-1991).
Accompanied by free light refreshments (drinks and nibbles), our main activities, including a guided visit of Dora and programme presentations will run from 5pm, but for any early birds there will be a tour of Kingston University’s 3D workshops and Fine Art studios (just 2 minutes from the Gallery) between 4-5pm. Practitioners of all disciplines are welcome to join us although emphasis will be placed upon opportunities that complement art and design related curriculum, and we will ensure no one leaves empty handed by offering ‘goody bags’ containing hard-copy print, postcards and interactive art maps, and education documents on USB.
In a dash after school? Limited free parking is available onsite. For details about this and our location, please see the Visit page of our website.
