The Stanley Picker Gallery is pleased to support Art by Bedelsford, an exhibition of unconventionally painted artworks made by seven young talents from Bedelsford School in Kingston upon Thames as part of Children’s Art Week 2015.
Bedelsford is an outstanding special school which aims to provide innovative education and a challenging environment for pupils aged 2 to 19, who have a wide range of physical disabilities, including profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex health needs. The artists exhibiting in The Lobby at Stanley Picker Gallery are all members of a group called Communication Support Base which is facilitated by artist Samuel Buttner, and alongside the wall-based pieces we will be screening a series of films that illustrate individuals’ experimental processes.
Exhibited artworks, along with those made by over 60 Bedelsford pupils under the theme ‘My Favourite Structures and Colours’, will be placed under public auction at a special event to be held at the school (3-minute walk from SPG) following the launch on 17 June. Viewing and refreshments from 6pm, with bidding to commence at 7pm. All money raised will be donated to Hearing Dogs for Deaf Children.
The Gallery team have been impressed by all, and hope that you will join us in celebrating their achievements.
