Dracula is a collecting project initiated by artist Roman Vasseur in collaboration with students and associates of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Kingston University that will result in a 740 page on-demand publication, a website and physical library, celebrating the diversity of literature and cover artwork inspired by Dracula and its subgenres.

Utilising traditional methods of collecting, the project will amass unique copies of vampire novels, demonstrating the formal diversity and repetition of the clichés, fears and repressed energies of the genre.

An archive of book cover images will be regularly updated on the project website at www.countdracula.tk with a special Halloween event at the Stanley Picker Gallery celebrating the entire project on Wed 31 Oct 6-8.30pm.

Produced under the umbrella title of Studio 740, the Dracula publication template was developed with Stanley Picker Fellow Daniel Eatock using the limitations of publish-on-demand formats. The second Studio 740 publication will be carried out by artist Volker Eichelmann.
