This week we are thinking about well-being at home, the sounds around us and the versatility of furniture in a domestic setting. With many of us currently required to spend our days at home, we are using our furniture in new ways and noticing the noises around us more.

Inspired by Yuri Suzuki’s Sound of the Waves (2018) installation presented as part of his Stanley Picker Fellowship project Furniture Music, our Museum & Gallery Assistant Zainab has produced some instructions for how to make an atmospheric tube – perfect if you have babies or toddlers at home. You might also find them useful for making some noise in the weekly #ClapForOurCarers!

She has also produced an additional resource for origami, designed to improve your well-being and keep you creative at home, whatever your age.
