Lobby: Ripping up Stereotypes

Kingston School of Art Fashion Promotion and Communication students
19-21 May 2022

In honour of UNESCO’s World Day for Cultural Diversity, each May, Kingston University celebrates their vibrant community with Cultural Diversity Week. Their 2022 campaign is focusing on recognising and questioning our multiple identities, as well as sparking curiosity and encouraging respectful conversations.

Fashion Promotion and Communication students from the Design School in Kingston School of Art boldly bring garment based sculptures to life out of different types of paper in the ‘Ripping up stereotypes‘ project and live event. These artefacts aim to challenge stereotypes as well as shine a light on our rich diversity. We welcome all to take a closer look.
