Splinter Collective

Tuesday 13 – Saturday 17 February, drop in anytime 11am – 5pm

Continuing on from last years FREE YARD exhibition, Splinter is inviting all people of colour to Stanley Picker Gallery to engage in a week of activities surrounding the topic of home. What is home to you?

This is an opportunity to meet other people of colour interested in the arts in a relaxed and open space, engaging in workshops/discussions/creative output. Together we will agree our shared needs and parameters. You are welcome even if you have no art background, this space is for you!

Splinter is free to attend and shaped by you.

Splinter is a collective that serves as a catalyst to empower people of colour by creating a support network within our immediate institutions. Established at Kingston School of Art in 2022 by three students of colour – Jamal Mclean, Sara Gibson Lopez and Thando Motaung – Splinter aims to challenge conventional forms of organisation and imagine more equitable worlds, through the ways that we meet, think and work.
