Get Creative: Students… Send us your work!

As the academic year draws to a close, we are celebrating all the brilliant work that students from Kingston School of Art have achieved, including those from our team.

Zainab Sanyang, our Saturday Art Club workshop leader and creator of many of the creative activity suggestions that we have been sharing over recent months (archived here), has recently shared her dissertation on the erasure of Black British history in British education, which includes a brilliant bibliography of useful resources – read it here.

Lucy Methven, another of our Museum & Gallery Assistants has also shared some drawings she has been working on recently.

To communicate the opportunities we offer to our students, our Museum & Gallery Assistant Kyle Campbell-Pope has created a new short film during the lockdown, From Our Students, about what the two venues mean to him and fellow students, which you can watch here:

Students from Kingston School of Art and the wider University regularly occupy the Gallery’s Lobby with solo and group exhibitions, performances and events throughout the academic year. The energy they bring to the Gallery is something that we have really missed over recent months. As some students were unable to present their projects onsite with us due to our closure, we invite you to take the opportunity to view their work online instead: Veronika Marxer‘s Voice Paintings, Ian Nabong‘s New Theologies, and Miriam Woodburn‘s Queer Women Exhibition.

We’d love to share the work of students at Kingston School of Art across our platforms. Send us your work by tagging us on Instagram @stanleypicker or Twitter @pickergallery or by e-mailing it to stanleypickergallery@kingston.ac.uk.
