Get Creative: Your Windows

Courtesy Zainab Sanyang

For many vulnerable people in our community staying at home, windows have become an important place to have conversations and watch the world outside, featured in last week’s Grayson Perry’s Channel 4 Art Club. For those able to get out and about, you will have noticed Rainbows for the NHS in windows, and perhaps been lucky enough to see some of Jeremy Deller and our graphic designer Fraser Muggeridge’s poster campaigns too. Here in Kingston, local artists have been putting artworks in their windows in place of their annual Open Studio.

Inspired by windows, our Museum & Gallery Assistants Zainab & Kyle have some ideas for getting creative with your windows at home! Zainab has been capturing her favourite views from home, what they have meant to her over this period and giving us some tips on how to sketch and enjoy them. Kyle has been thinking about transforming our views and how posting positive affirmations and signs can affect the everyday health of our communities. He’s given us some great ideas of how we can continue to brighten up our windows and the days of passers by. Download their instructions here:
