The Stanley Picker Gallery is presenting the first public opportunity to hear and see some of the ideas and works in progress of Stanley Picker Fellows Nicole Wermers and Boudicca (Zowie Broach & Brian Kirkby) as they pursue their research and make preliminary plans for their Fellowship exhibitions in the next academic year.

Nicole Wermers will be introducing her Fellowship project and wider practice in a lunchtime talk at 1.30pm on Wednesday 1 May in the Main Lecture Theatre at the Faculty of Art, Design & Archtecture, Kingston University. She will be focussing on her research at the interface of art and design and her investigations into the grades of functionality of sculptural objects, examining the urban experience and production of public and private space and of transitional public realms  such as museums and cafés.

Boudicca will be opening the Fellows Studio to the public from 1-16 May, where the two designers have been experimenting with new ideas to initiate their Fellowship research. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Boudicca informally and find out more about their wider practice from 5-7pm on Wednesday 1 May, and will be able to re-visit the studio over the following weeks to witness the work in development.

The Stanley Picker Gallery will be announcing a call for applicants for the 2013 Fellowships in the coming weeks. Visit our Fellowships pages from 1 May 2013 for details on how to apply.
