Join us in participating with Sow to Sew, a free educational programme of workshops and textile demonstrations run by local community partner Ariadne’s Thread Group.
The full programme focuses on cultivating flax and processing it into fibres which subsequently become linen threads for sewing. The workshops will encompass all stages of textile production, from seed to cloth. This will incorporate demonstrations of various traditional techniques and mixed media textile sampling including, natural dyeing, block printing, embroidery, weaving and yarn spinning.
The next community event will be a Flax Demonstration on Wed 23 April 12-2pm at Hogsmill Community Garden. This is a FREE activity and suitable for all abilities.
